I consider important to repeat again that my aim was to led children participate and speak. That is why I prepared at home some controversial questions to argue about the old and the new versions of "snow- white". I also thought about some easy and very opened questions to begin the lesson in an attractive way, because I wanted to achieve their attention since the first moment. These questions were:
"What is the violence against women?", "Why do you think it happens?". Those questions made them
to lift their finger; a lot of them wanted to speak and give their opinion but it was difficult to me to
give the chance to speak to all of them, because there were a lot of students and a short time. So I
think that in that aspect, I wasn`t very flexible, cause I wanted to do all I had prepared without
going out of my outline; if a student gave an unexpected answer, immediately I went back to
my prepared diagram. That attitude was a way to feel secure and comfortable with myself, but
maybe it wasn`t the best for children.
Other handicap was that I didn`t know their names. It is true that I didn't ask for them either, because I knew that I wouldn´t learn none of them at that moment. So I explained them that I was going to point at them with the finger. I know it is very rude but I apologized for that in advantage. In that moment any other solution came to my mind.
Another aspect to take in account for my following lessons is that I was all the time near the desk and the computer. If I moved farer from the table, I didn`t know where I could put my hands. It is not the first time I do something similar: doing a presentation or any time I have to be in front of a public, I prefer to stay near a solid object as a wall, or I usually keep a pen or a paper in my hands, that makes me feel better.
Apart from that, in my opinion, I succeed in choosing the topic. Violence is a daily action, but we don`t really remember it many times, and we don't speak about it when we are in group (less we do if there is a child with us). In contrast, students looked very concerned about the topic and my questions reminded them real violence stories happened here, in Gasteiz. I`m proud of it.
Moreover, after answering the second question, I explained them my "theory": infant books have a part of guilt in the male's violence. The way I presented the topic was also pertinent, because they didn't expect the relation I did between both. It was clear that they had never seen genus related literature related literature until I arrived there.
Then, I asked them if they wanted to watch the traditional version of "snow- white" and they accept the proposal. When the video finished, we analyzed very shortly the role of the main characters and how the story ends. After that, we watched the second version of the book and we compared both of them, especially woman's role and characteristics, and the ending of the story. We found out two conclusions:
1- In the second story "snow- white" is clever apart from beautiful. The thing is that the narrator doesn't say nothing about the beauty and doesn`t underline it.
2- In the first story, "snow white" wakes up with a prince's kiss, but in the second one is a doctor who recovers her.
Nonetheless, despite the children looked motivated, there was a mistake in this exercise: students weren't comfortable in their chairs and if they wanted to watch the video, they had to look back forcing the position of their body, becoming tired faster and moving a lot in their chairs.
After we had analyzed the characteristics of a book which are negative to both sexes and their relation, it was the turn of the group work. When I said that they were going to work together, they became very happy. That is why I am convinced that the interaction is the best way to learn. So I shew the work, we read the book and they started to write a different ending to "Arturo and Clementina's" book. Some of them, wrote that Arturo changes his attitude towards Clementina; others that Crementina break up with Arturo, she goes to Venetia, she falls in love again and she has a child; others wrote that Clementina kills Arturo ... This exercise, as it is said by Recio (nd), allowed them to use and to stimulate their imagination.
Referring to my attitude in this exercise, I have to say that I was disposed to help them and to solve their doubts every moment. Besides, I showed interest and surprise about their productions and I transmitted to all of them the value of their works. I want to think that this essay was meaningful for them too, because they looked very interested and they asked me for reading the real ending of the book. Finally, they did both exercises in "educaplay" and I was ready to help them at all time.
According to those exercises and what you have watched in the third video, I think that I didn`t ascribe the importance deserved to educaplay's exercises. I prepared them just in case we had time free, but when I saw students so motivated with that exercises I realized that they could be the main essay or at least I could give more time and effort applying them. Currently, I regret a bit because I didn`t work on the vocabulary as many as I could and I didn`t take advantage of that digital tool, but I am happy because I showed them the webpage and I am sure that they are going to enter there from their houses.
I ought to say that in these two last exercises the space was not the most appropriate either, because three children were in each computer and the participation of the partners was not balanced depending on their position in front of the screen.
We finished the class at five o`clock in the afternoon, just when they had to go back at home. I couldn't record that moment in the video because the camera run out of battery, but in summary, I asked them to switch off the computers, I thanked them for their attention and predisposition and I said good bye.
To sum up, I must say that during the lesson I tried to be flexible, nearby and comprehensive with them, I did also try to transmit happiness and to create a possitive and a comfortable atmosphere to work and relate with each other.
